Technical Bulletin
Anthracite is the highest rank carbon. It has the highest carbon content between 92.1% and 98%, with lowest impurities. Anthracite has, by comparison, a very low ash content and provides calorific value.
Due to its high purity Anthracite carbon used in Filter Media in combination with filter sand for the removal of turbidity and SS removal.
As specific gravity of Filter sand is very high, Mixing of Anthracite as Filter Media in Filter Sand, helps dual-media filtration, to consist reverse grain layers after backwashing.

Anthracite is used extensively in water filtration and
in water treatment because of its excellent filtration properties. Anthracite is used along with silica sand (dual media system) or with silica sand and filter rock (mixed media system) or by itself (mono media system).Anthracite coal is used extensively for water and waste-water filtration in the following industries : metals industry refining industry chemical industry
Anthracite ia a Filter Media that is suitable for various applications. These include the following:
Sewage Filters
Mechanical Filters
Revolving Screen
Sludge Beds
