Description
A 1:1 Coconut Monoethanolamide, which is designed for use in household and cosmetic preparations. Cocamide MEA is an excellent viscosity index improver and foam stabilizer. Cocamide MEA has very low residual free amine and is a suitable replacement for diethanolamides.Cocamide MEA, or cocamide monoethanolamine, is a solid, off-white to tan compound, often sold in flaked form. The solid melts to yield a pale yellow viscous clear liquid. It is a mixture of fatty acid amides which is produced from the fatty acids in coconut oil when reacted with ethanolamine. Used as foaming agents and nonionic surfactants in shampoos and bath products, and as emulsifying agents in cosmatics.

Application ::
Cocamide MEA is typically used as a foam stabilizer and viscosifier in soaps, powdered detergents, industrial and personal care applications.
- Emulsifying : Promotes the formation of intimate mixtures between immiscible liquids by modifying the interfacial tension (water and oil)
- Emulsion stabilising : Promotes the emulsification process and improves the stability and shelf life of the emulsion
- Foam boosting : Improves the quality of the foam produced by a system by increasing one or more of the following properties: volume, texture and/or stability
- Surfactant : Reduces the surface tension of cosmetics and contributes to the even distribution of the product when it is used
- Viscosity controlling : Increases or decreases the viscosity of cosmetics.

Storage and Handling
Cocamide MEA should be stored in sealed containers below 30°C in a dry place out of direct sunlight.Handle between 25°C – 35°C. Cocamide MEA will require heat to incorporate, 65-75°C until dissolved is recommended. Avoid prolonged exposure to heating as this may lead to degradation.
